Ed has over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry and over this time he has held a variety of senior technical, management and commercial roles.
In the course of his career to date, Ed has worked closely with many large multinational organizations and has gained a deep understanding of the business needs and challenges they face. He has also learned how to successfully address these needs through the innovative use of IT.
Prior to taking up his new role as President of Island Networks, Inc. in the US, Ed held the role of Sales Director in Island Networks Ireland. He is a graduate of University College Dublin, holding a Master’s Degree in Computer Science.

Gary spent the initial 9 years of his career working in sales roles in some of the leading global manufacturers of IT equipment and built a successful sales track record with those companies in the Irish market. He joined Horizon Technology Group in 1992, then a small Irish company specialising in the supply of IT solutions in the Irish market.
Over the following 16 years, Gary went on to become CEO of Horizon and played a central role in developing the company into a successful multinational IT services organisation, which included the successful completion of a number of company acquisitions and disposals.
Horizon was floated on the Dublin and London stock exchanges in 1999.
In 2008 Gary led the sale of Horizon Technology Group plc to Avnet Technology Solutions, a US Fortune 500 company and a leading global IT solutions distributor. For the following 3 years Gary remained with Avnet as Senior Vice President, EMEA.
Gary graduated in 1983 from NUI Galway with an honors degree in Electronic Engineering and also in 1984, with a post-graduate diploma in Manufacturing Technology. In 2006 Gary was selected to be one of the first Irish technology CEO’s to complete the inaugural ‘Leadership4Growth’ program in Stanford University Graduate School of Business, which was sponsored by Enterprise Ireland.

Samir Naji has over 25 years’ experience in the IT industry, having founded Horizon Technology Group PLC in 1988. He led development of Horizon as it became a leading IT services business operating across Europe.
Samir was the Chief Executive and main shareholder in Horizon when the company was floated on the Dublin and London stock exchanges in 1999. The company achieved record share price growth on its first day of trading on the Irish and London Stock Exchange.
Horizon grew to become one of the leading systems integration and distribution companies in the UK and Ireland, marketing and supported enterprise server, storage, networking, security and communications products from leading vendors including Sun Microsystems, EMC, F5 Networks, Juniper, IBM, Nortel and Oracle.
In addition to its channel business, Horizon’s Solutions unit partnered with major software vendors including BMC, Microstrategy and SAP to provide a full range of customisation and implementation services to end user customers throughout the UK and Ireland. In 2003 Horizon became Cisco’s largest training partner in Europe training over 5,000 Cisco Certified Networking Engineers in 9 European training centers.
Samir developed Horizon’s strategy, communicated it to shareholders and successfully led its execution. Horizon was acquired in 2008 by Avnet Technology Solutions, a US Fortune 500 company. Horizon had revenues of over €280m and 400 employees at this time.
Samir graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from University College Cork.
Since the acquisition of Horizon he has been an investor and business advisor to various technology start-up companies, both in Ireland and abroad. He was awarded the ICT Industry Person of the Year in 2006.
